Biggar boasts a large number of facilities, which can support a large variety of recreational activities.

The Biggar Jubilee Stadium plays host to a variety of events and community groups throughout the year. In the winter months the stadium is home for senior hockey, minor hockey (both girls and boys), recreation hockey, old timer hockey, power skating, and figure skating. In the summer, the stadium is home for the Biggar Integrated Day Camp and many other social events.





In 1955 the Jubilee Stadium opened to the public. It has a cement floor, artificial ice, and seating for 600. The ice surface is 190 x 85. The rink has four dressing rooms with showers.

Mark Edwards Memorial Hall is located above the lobby of the Jubilee Stadium. The hall is home to the Biggar School of Dance and the Biggar Air Cadets. With a view of the Jubilee Stadium's ice surface, it makes for a great place for social events.

Located near the stadium is The Curling Rink, which was built in 1961. It has four sheets of artificial ice, a concession area, and a licensed lounge.

The Biggar Aquatic Center was built in 1987. This outdoor pool is 25m x 12m with depths of 0.15m in the shallow end and 3.7m in the deep end. The Aquatic Centre is home of the Biggar Barracuda Swim Club. With plenty of spectator seating, picnic and sunbathing areas, it makes for a great family outing.





Also built in 1987, and located directly beside the pool, is Biggar's Tennis Courts. This outdoor facility has two paved courts and doubles as outdoor basketball courts.

The Biggar Recreation Complex was built in 1983. Within the complex are many different areas. There are three ball fields, two fastball diamonds (one has a red shale infield), and one baseball diamond. The ball fields are complimented by the concession/washroom facilities and batting cages.





Located right beside the ball diamonds is a Football/soccer field which is used by the local school football team and the minor soccer organization is located on the west edge of the complex. The football/soccer field is surrounded by a black rock running track and jumping pits for track and field events. A paved walking path encloses the entire complex.

Public Parks

The Buckingham Park located on 3rd Avenue East has plenty of playground equipment, picnic areas, a ball field, washrooms, and horseshoe pits.





Lloyd Hock Park is located on Turnbull Avenue and has plenty of playground equipment, picnic areas and a mix of shaded and open areas.





The Elks Tot Lot is located on 6th Avenue West. This small playground area has plenty of swings, seesaws, and other play equipment for small children.

The Sandra Schmirler Olympic Gold Park surrounds Biggar Central School 2000. It was constructed to honor the achievements of Biggar curler Sandra Schmirler who passed away in March 2000. The park houses a gazebo, playground equipment, a Memorial Wall, and a Wall of Fame.

Biggar Golf Course

The local nine hole golf course is part of the Biggar Regional Park. Located 2 kms north of Biggar is the nine hole, grass green course. With two tees on every hole, a challenging and scenic 18 hole course appears. There is also a lounge and lunch bar on site at the golf course.

The Trout Pond which sits surrounded by the Golf Course, is also part of the Biggar Recreational Park. The trout pond has fishing off a covered bridge, open bar-be-que facilities and a covered picnic area.
